- Press release compiled by Oluwakemi Oladipo, Abuja Nigeria
The Corporate Institute of Strategic Research (CISR), Abuja has inaugurated five new fellow members into the institute as doctoral, associate, and professional memberships.
Mrs Victoria Okon, Registrar of CISR made this known at the Lagos International Workshop and Strategic Summit and induction ceremony on Saturday in Lagos.
The theme of the Workshop: “Content Leadership in the Digital Era Strategic Mentorship Approach”.
Okon said that effective strategic leadership was essential for organizations to succeed in today’s rapidly changing and competitive environment while she was giving the goals and visions of the institute.
“It requires ongoing research and development mentorship and a willingness to adapt to changing market trends.
“We beckon all stakeholders to assist and leverage strategic research by creating content value and packages, building leadership linkages, networks, frameworks, and partnerships that can generate content and financial value.
Our team of professionals and mentors are made up of diverse individuals who collaborate to deliver innovative mentorship, leadership and strategic research solutions, - Mrs Victoria Okon
Prof. Mohamed Bangura, Provost General, CISR said that leadership development in this era must necessarily encompass training in the leadership of geographically distributed and heterogeneous teams.
Bangura said that a leader in the digital age must be able to communicate effectively, nurture employees, and practice cultural competence and sensitivity even in wholly virtual environments.
This is no mean feat, to be sure, but the traits of a strong leader in the digital era can support these goals.
For example, becoming a leader in a globalised economy rooted in digital technology means that one must be both curious and agile - Prof. Mohamed Bangura
Apostles James Okon, Chairman of the Institute said that the CISR was born out of necessity and our major three cardinal areas include; leadership, mentorship, and research.
Okon said that he believed the inducted fellows with their commitment, statement of loyalty, and dedication to their responsibilities would reach out to their professional colleagues to give their contributions to the institute’s vision and drive.
One of the inductees, Dr. Babatunde Salau, consultant: Training and Organisation Development, said that research should be a key and soul of any organization or nation.
Salau, also Chief Executive Officer, of Global Kreatives Konsult Ltd., said that any organization that does not innovate would not do well because new things do come out from research that will benefit individuals, organizations, and nations.
I am involved in innovation management for the European Union especially for the small scale enterprises in Africa, that was what brought me into the institute of research - Dr Babatunde Salau
Dr Adesoji Danisi, Lecturer at Faculty of Law National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Abuja has urged the institute to turn the results of the various researches that had been carried out into products and submitted to industries to boost the economy growth.
Danisi said that he would support the institute financially as applicable and carry out research from his field of study which was public international law.
I am currently doing a research on 'The Impact of Diplomatic Immunity on the International Justice System' which will be submitted to the institutes in order to help engender peace globally - Dr Adesoji Danisi
